Painting.
My place of rest and my place of exploration. These loose landscapes, still lifes, and abstracts have all served as a beautiful release. I love to build layers; at times, I enjoy offering simple hints of color over smoothed, wood panel. I have used brushes, rags, palette knives, and squeegees. These pieces have been my free-writing, and I have enjoyed every minute of it.
On the docket? Highly detailed landscapes of the countryside. The small, hyperly realized oil paintings I was surrounded with as a youth have crept back into my conscience. For those who dance, Iām craving some ballet. It has all been modern. Material and assemblage have also piqued my curiosity. I will be living in a house full of things.
